This past weekend I began putting together a table setting for Tablescape Thursday. On Sunday evening, as I was sitting at the computer finishing up my Metamorphosis Monday post, Max kitty walked across in front of the keyboard and onto the left side of my desk. I picked him up to put him down on the floor since I can't work very well with him in that spot. Some how---still not sure how it happened--Max took some papers on the desk, along with my camera that had been sitting on the papers, to the floor with him. The camera broke apart into two pieces, with the lens flying across the room. Waaaaa....
The next morning I took it to a Nikon repair center and as I sit typing this Monday evening, I'm not sure when I'll have it back. So tempting to run out and upgrade to that Nikon D5100 I've lusted after--but I will resist.
Update: Wednesday evening: I have good news and bad news. The bad news: I found out Tuesday morning that they can't get the part to repair my Nikon D40 for a 8-9 weeks, possibly longer. This is due to a shortage of camera parts caused by the tsunami that hit Japan a while back and now the floods in Thailand.
Now for the good news: resistance was futile. I just finished charging the battery on a Nikon D5100. I couldn't face Thanksgiving without a camera. Should I "thank" Max for pushing me off the fence?
No time to play with it now--there's still cooking to be done, but I really liked the two test pics I took here in the office. So nice having "live view" again and I think I'll like the vari-angle monitor for taking tablescape photos. (HERE's a 3 minute video about this camera it if you would like to check it out.)
So, though I don't have pictures of a new tablescape to post for this Tablescape Thursday, due to camera issues this week, I have something a whole lot better. I pulled up last year's Thanksgiving tablescape and as I reviewed that post, I realized this was the post with all the beautiful expressions of "thanksgiving" by you. These beautiful words were left on Facebook last year and I included as many as I could in last year's Tablescape Thursday post. They are as meaningful and beautiful this year as they were when they were left last Thanksgiving. Your words say more than any post I could have written for today.
Happy Thanksgiving, dear friends! I hope this Thanksgiving finds you surrounded by the ones you love. And I pray the dreams and hopes you expressed last year have come to past. What are you hoping for and dreaming of this year? What brings you joy and comfort and fills your heart with thanksgiving today?

I am thankful for each day with my husband of 42 years, time spent with our children and 6 grandchildren. As well as my Mom who will be 89 this year.
We are so blessed each & every day Happy Thanksgiving to all. ~Pat~
So thankful for my continued good health as a "C" survivor for 3 years and thankful that my son has completed his middle east tour of duty and is now stationed in the United States . Let's all pray for our servicemen who will not be able to be with their loved ones this Thanksgiving. ~Julie~
We are grateful beyond words this year that our son-in-law and father of our precious little grandchildren, who has been fighting Stage 4 Lymphoma, is now doing very well. He just has another year of chemotherapy but his Physicians are very optimistic. ~Janine~
I am thankful for my two grandchildren. Their dad will have to go back to Iraq next spring for another year and I am praying that he returns safely home to these precious children. Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow posters. ~Faye~

Last December 18 our family lost our home and all the contents to a house fire....years of collecting and memories. While most people would think that we lost everything..we didn't because we have a stronger, more bonded loving family. I am thankful God has blessed me with wonderful friends and family. I am thankful to God for beating metastatic melanoma cancer this year. Found a lump under my arm and found out it was cancerous. Had 7 months of chemo and surgery and 30 days of extensive radiation treatments. I am currently cancer-free and SO thankful to be alive and thankful for everyone who prayed for me! ~Faith~
I am thankful for my family and our health. Our son is deployed and I will miss him and our sweet daughter in law this holiday season. Keep our military families in your prayers. ~Anita~
