    Day 2

    {Marbleizing Pencils}

    Marbleized-Pencils

    This is a really fun and educational craft project!  Shhh don’t tell the kids.  he he Everyone {even the finicky teenagers} were Wowed by this project.

    {Part 1}

    {Supplies}

    Marbleizing-Supplies

        1. Shaving Cream
        2. Food Coloring
        3. Squeegee
        4. Toothpicks
        5. Computer Paper
        6. Old Tray

    Spreading-Shaving-Cream

    Spread shaving cream large enough to cover a sheet of paper.

    Marbleizing-Food-Color

    Drop 8-10 droplets of food coloring onto the shaving cream.  This was a great time to teach the kiddos about primary colors and mixing and blending of colors.

    Laying-Paper-to-Marbleize

    Gently place a sheet of paper on top of the colored shaving cream.

    Squeegee

    Carefully lift the paper off and place on a flat surface.  Squeegee off the remaining shaving cream.  Amazingly the shaving cream wipes off but the color remains!

    Colorful-Marbleizing

    We started by trying a few color and then the kids decided to add a LOT of  COLOR!

    Marbleized-Paper

    And didn’t it turn out fabulous???!!!  I love it :D

    Let the paper dry before moving on to Part 2.

    {Part 2}

    {Supplies}

        1. Mod Podge
        2. Pencils
        3. Paintbrush
        4. Marbleized Paper
        5. Small cup

    Pencil-Marbleizing-Supplies

    Start by protecting the work surface.  Cut your marbleized paper into one inch strips by the length of the pencil {minus the eraser and metal end}.

    Glueing-Paper

    Apply a light coat of glue to the back of the paper.  Be sure to glue all the edges well.

    Cover-Marbleized-Pencils

    Cover the pencil with the paper and apply a coat of glue to seal. Let the pencil dry thoroughly before using.

    Rolling Tip:

    If you place the eraser to your left and place the pencil at the top edge of the paper and roll toward yourself…… the paper will be rapped in the same direction of the pencil sharper.   Lessening the chance of tearing instead of cutting.  Just a thought….
